Winter Ready your Summer Wardrobe

Tonights blog focuses on winter ready-ing your summer wardrobe. It's essential to cater to your closet's need of all season necessity. I have coordinated a few outfits together to see that my brief follows through. It's hard enough trying to recreate ever present wardrobe regulars let alone making sure you don't break the bank when we need to follow seasonal trends. So I have devised a way to keep your summer style relevant whilst keeping warm and season appropriate.

Above I have styled the the ever classic turtleneck sweater, which is currently trending for this winter and all over the catwalks. To the left I have paired the UNIQLO cashmere sweater with a classic black slip skirt by Rick Owen. This makes use of your slip skirt and keeps the outfit season appropriate. On more warmer nights this simple black heel does wonders to dress the outfit up.
To the Right I have styled the UNIQLO cashmere sweater with leather shorts by Givenchy and Hunter wellington boots. This take is a more casual look but serves its purpose as a versatile quiet efficient outfit for a cooler day.
Above focuses on the boyfriend blazer trend and I have styled each piece to work well with a few common summer pieces. To the right I have styled an Alexander Wang crop with high waisted ACNE wide leg trousers, paired with a Theyskens cropped sweater to play on the crop look. This is also styled to introduce another trend this winter - Layering. This to brings colour to your wardrobe, as you are keeping the summer/autumn tones relevant in your wardrobe. Matched with a White blazer this look is basic and see's to be weather appropriate whilst versatile for when the day becomes warmer.
To the Left, I have styled another Alexander Wang crop with a pair of Barbara Bui high-waisted white trouser. This is a classic black and white look and almost ageless. Suitable for all figures. Paired with the Saint Laurent blazer gives you a classic and simple night look. Perfect boyfriend Blazer styling.

And finally here I have utilised the oversized coat trend. I love these looks! Both focusing on completely different approaches to this trend, but both looking hot!
To the left I have put together Haider Ackerman wool and silk blend over coat with an Alexander Wang crop, paired with Alexander Wang pleat shorts. This outfit is one of my favourites yo can never go wrong in all black and this over sized coat brings a seasonal acceptance to the outfit.
To the right I have put together a look that I common to me, the knit and denim. I have paired The Row crop turtle neck and TOPSHOP vintage jeans. This gives this outfit a vintage, retro look, whilst keeping all trend relevant and appropriate. I have layered a burberry over coat to show how you would style denim, knit and coat and have it looking great.

Let me know what you all think of these outfits and how you would style them differently. I would love to know?
What are your favourite winter trends this year? Let me know if you would like to see me style them.

Met Gala 2014: The Good, The Bad and The Try Again Next Year...

From Kimye to Cara, Designers from Chanel to Stella McCarthy to TopShop. It was all guns blazing at this years Met Ball. The fashion being a main focus as always. Some attendees were attempting  redemption from the year that was, others just dazzled us again with their flawless presence.

Famous for the infamous dress code setting, The Met Gala is an excuse for Hollywood and fashion's finest to parade along a red carpet in sometimes controversial pieces, the Oscars without the Oscar. This years dress code was White Tie and Decorations - Some fit the brief quiet well, while others should try again next year...

Here's my wrap up of the nights fashion frenzy.

Best Dressed.

1.  Bad Gal RiRi x

Lovely in White, this girl has yet again wowed the fashion world. From her revealing not so there attire to magnificent gowns. This girl can work anything (grrr...). Wearing a Stella McCarthy piece RiRi shows us how its done, taking the co-ord trend to whole new level, showing off that toned stomach of hers, while keeping classy with long strong shoulders, giving the outfit edge with a messy up-do. Classy yet edgey. Deffinately a #1 winner this year.

2. Koe Kravitz

Loving this riskay piece worn by Zoe Kravitz. The Burgande is a fave this season and is worn well against her beautiful skin tone. This piece is from Topshop and so elegant yet very sexy.

3. Anne Hathaway

Rocking the Co-ord, Always so graceful and lady like. She's perfection. Wearing Calvin Klein. Simple elegance is how I'd describe Anne's look here. Simple acesssories. So pretty.

4. Cara Delevingne

Wearing Stella McCarthy Everything, Cara has amazed us again with her versatile, tomboyish style, whilst also looking A-Class Chick. Setting a trend and giving the men a run for their money. Cara's casual yet stunning outfit speaks comfort and confidence. Nice One.

5. Rachael McAdams

Wearing a nude piece from the Ralph Lauren Collection. This dress is so beautiful, suiting her angelic personality. Definitely a classy lady. Well suited to her skin tone and complementing her eye colour, this was  great selection for this years festivities.

6. Kendal Jenner

Young and beautiful. Kendal has shocked the fashion scene with her appearances on A- grade fashion shows and her mature mindset - which is what this outfit screams. Wearing this gown from Topshop, the pearl beige is stunning on her figure, I'm loving the mermaid flare hem on her.

7. Bey & Jay-Z

Both rocking Givenchy Couture pieces. Looking that extra bit classy and cosy by each others side. Hollywoods power couple, trend setting yet again. I love the edgey look of Yonce's piece, she pulls of the hot mumma well. And a sharp tux never disappointed anyone Jay-Z. I'd vote these two # 1 Couple Costume.

8. Kimye

After major major back lash toward's Kim's 2013 couch cover disaster dress, Kim has come back hotter then ever. Showing flesh through a extremely high slit gown by Lanvin. Kim has exceeded redemption! Looking stunning as always. Kayne not so bad, rocking a Lanvin tux, very sharp, A smile for the camera wouldn't hurt.
The deep blue tone is a favourite on her.

Worst Dress.

1.  Rita Ora

This play-on Swan Lake did not give Rita justice this evening. It's somewhat trashy and very immature. I can see what she was hoping for with this, but didn't quiet go the distance. This assymetrical Donna Karen number had way to much going on. In my opinion gold is outdated. The shoes... Casadei gold leather gladiator boots scream too ballet for me. Left over material doesn't count as an accessory Rita. Better luck next time.

2. Gabrielle Union

The Prada Piece has much to answer for, I believe this did not quiet answer the brief of the evening. The crop I do like, however the skirt is questionable, I'm not a feather fan. The embellishments throughout the outfit look like a 5 year olds arts and crafts projection. Sorry Gabby.

This years Met Ball, had some fabulous fashion pieces, I have recieved some great inspiration from the outfits of the night if only I had anywhere to wear them to..
What was your favourite pieces of the evening? Who d you think was best dressed?
